The Hotel Raquel, property that dates of the beginnings of the XX century, finished in 1908, was property in that moment of Loriente and Acevedo Bros., those which once adjoining to the Lorinte Bros. Trading Company, the plans of construction of this elegant construction were designed.
In 1914, it dissolved the Loriente Bros. Trading Company, this building passes at the hands of the Cuban Company of Accidents S.A.
In 1927 the Official Government Journal of Cuba announced an auction of the property whose buyer would be Mr. Esteban Gacicedo y Torriente, born in Santander, Spain.
In the time, it was succeeded several tenants until, the Advertising Company of the Food Industry, it passes at the hands of the Office of the City Historian of Havana to be restored (1999-2000) and transformed into the current hotel Raquel (inaugurated June 5 of 2003), as perpetual homage to that beautiful woman, emblem of the Hebrew and inspiring culture of countless works of art that the fourth matriarch of the Jewish town is considered.
At the moment, the Hotel Raquel is operated by the Tourist Company Habaguanex S.A. linked to the Office of the City Historian of Havana.
